My Favorite Sounds...
I just put Wyatt down to bed and I'm being serenaded by him singing his ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star from his crib. :)
We had a pretty great day today. Wyatt had a lot of fun at school (we have been doing a mommy and me "school" program two days a week through the community college), and then we had a playgroup meetup at the park. After playing for a while, I asked him if he wanted to go in the swing, and he of course said no. He watched his friends swing for a little while and saw how much fun they were having. Then I said, "Let's just sit in it." Surprisingly, there was little protest this time. He watched a friend swing beside him, laughing at her obvious enjoyment, and I began to push him gently as he was distracted.
Eventually, he was swinging almost as fast and far and she was, and they were having so much fun laughing!!! At one point he got upset and said, "Hold Mommy!" So I stopped the swing and asked him if he wanted to get out. He thought about it, and said, "No, more!!!" We swung for a good 15-20 minutes. This was his first time swinging on a baby/toddler swing at the park. EVER. :)
Heard just now from his room, "Funny car! Heeheehee!" His is in this habit of entertaining himself for a long time in his crib before he finally falls asleep, and I don't mind one bit. It is much preferable to crying/screaming, and is SO sweet.

New Haircut and Family Resemblance
Wyatt got a haircut yesterday. Daddy gave it to him. Daddy is the only one "allowed" to cut his hair. ;) I think it looks adorable.
Most of the time I don't think Wyatt looks anything like me, and it would probably take both hands to count the number of times complete strangers have seen us together and asked, "Now, who does he look like?" It never particularly bothered me, I just think genetics are a funny thing. I've known lots of families that all look so much alike. Every once in a while though, usually when we are checking ourselves out in the mirror, I notice our similarities. Not so much anything tangible, but more of a roundness of features and a mischievous look in the eye that makes me think, "Yes, this boy is MINE."
