Hold my Hand

Me: "You need to hold my hand in the parking lot. A car could hit you."

Wyatt: "Or, cars could get hit by Wyatt."

Yes. That too.

Potty Learning Continued...

So it has been about 12 days since Wyatt first peed on his potty. It has continued everyday since...an average of about 4-10 times a day. This is not to say he no longer pees in his diaper. Oh no, I have a total super-soaker. The diaper I took off him this morning after being on all night probably weighed more than he did. He still pees in his diaper during the day too, and definitely poops there. I suppose that one time he pooped in the potty was a fluke, for now. I have tried to get him to sit down to poop, but as he stands every time to pee (luckily has pretty good aim!), we're not quite there yet.

He seems to be very proud of himself and needs an audience to pee. If Daddy is home, he runs to tell him, "Peed in potty! Peed in potty!" And runs up and down the hallway, laughing excitedly. Occasionally he will tell me he needs his diaper off to go pee in the potty, but usually I ask him first. We're well on our way, though....;)

A Budding Artist...

We call this duo "Sharpie Surprise". Note the use of vertical line in both pieces.

Fabulous.

A Story Shared before Naptime

"I saw police car...it go 'Wheee-ooh, wheee-oh!' And...and...and...I saw amblance, it go 'Wheee-oooh, wheee-oh!' And...um...um...uh...I saw firetruck, it go 'Wheee-oooh, whee-oh!' It honk and uh...um...drive 'tween cars and trucks!"

Cool. Thanks for sharing, little dude. ;)

Potty Learning!!

I have been totally NOT pushing potty learning on Wyatt at all, but lately he's been wanting to take off his diaper and try like Daddy. Last night he peed several times in his little potty, and today he did as well (sitting down as well as standing up and aiming). He also pooped in the potty for the first time ever today...I am SO proud of our little man!!

Here are some random pictures I took today of Wyatt in Daddy's glasses and sunglasses. Tried to get a pic of him in mine, but they kept sliding down his nose. Handsome guy. ;)

And one from later when he passed out in the car. :)

Wyatt-isms

"That sheep is broken." (Drawing of a sheep laying down, no legs.)

"This snake is way cool." (After he made a snake from play-dough.)

"Roadie poadie bug dead. Mommy squish it." (For the record, I totally did NOT. lol)

"Getting dark out. Lie down and go night-night soon."

"I don't like it. Take away. Throw in trash." (We hear this A LOT.)

"I want it!!!" (We also hear this a lot.)

"Buster (Mommy, Daddy, little boy/girl, whoever) FUNNY!!!" (Followed by uncontrollable giggles.)

"Daddy at work (in shower/sleeping, etc.)"

"Go on plane with Grandmommy, see Sammy." (Her cat.)

"Wanna see Grandmommy." (When I'm on my laptop. Sometimes we Skype and we can see her, so he often comes over and asks.)

"I'm scared." (In an elevator, on a slide, etc. Said in a tiny voice, followed by nuzzling into my neck.)

"I'm sleepy, so sleepy." (Said in car while rubbing eyes, right before conking out.)

"Passenger train!/ Steam train!/ Airplane!/ Helicopter!/ Race car!/ Garbage truck!/ Mail truck!/ Fire engine!/ Police car!/ Ambulance!/ Whatever vehicle I am seeing right now!"

"That boat swimmin' in water."

"Mommy/Daddy said no."

"Don't touch."

"I'm walking backwards!!!"

"Please and tank-tu!"

"I sorry."

"Go in time-out?"

"No Buster, that's Wyatt's/mine!"

"No, I'm (drinking milk, sitting down, watching Little Einsteins/ whatever random reason for not doing something Mommy asks.)

"How about..." (When thinking about something, i.e. working on a puzzle.)

"Because..." (Usually proceeds some sort of purposely-bogus reasoning.)

"Sit in Mommy's/Daddy's lap."

"Snuggle with Mommy."

"1...,2...,3....,4...." (and on and on...)

"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" by Wyatt Vaughn

Now that I have figured out how to use the video feature on my camera, I hope to catch a lot more spontaneous songs...;)

Enjoy!

Creativity at its Finest...

(Don't mind the runny nose...) ;)

Why wear pants on your legs when you can wear them on your arms? With gloves?

Reason # 582 - a.k.a. "Logic is Optional"

"Can you please put your Legos back in the bin?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because...ummm....I drink milk. And wear wool pants. With stripes."

Oh, okay then. Makes sense.

Might not seem like a big deal, but...

today was the first bath EVER that Wyatt let me wash and rinse his hair without totally losing it. :)

After I got dressed, he said, "Mommy has bootiful shirt on!" Haha...I have no idea where he got that one...

Thank you Aunt Leah! ;)

This morning Wyatt was fascinated with a new shirt he found - it was for his birthday from his Aunt Leah and Uncle Ryan. So I told him that. Only once.

That afternoon at the park, he pointed to it and said, "This shirt from Unk Ryan."

When we went to pick up Eric at work, Eric asked him who gave him the shirt. He thought about it for a few seconds and then said, "Shirt from Aunt We-ah."

He has an amazing memory.
